This is all the information I have on the ranch back in the 1940's. One additional note to this the caretake of the ranch at that time was John(Jack) Penner and his wife Annie as listed on the above post. Jack and Annie visited my family in Pennsylvania in 1962. That was the last contact we had with anyone from that time. They were great people and are missed. My parents Elda and Owen Bullock from Pennsylvania along with Annie and Jack Penner from Eldorado, California
were ranch hands and domestics for Mr. EJ Brandeis after the war starting in 1945. They share many stories about the ranch and Mr. Brandeis and described him as being as hard working as any of his employees. The only Hollywood personalities at that time who were invited to the ranch were Walt Disney, Roy and Dale Rogers, Janet Leigh. Also a good friend and regular visitor was Will Rogers Jr.
Mr. Brandeis as my parents described him was very good to work for and always was fully involved in the ranch and all its operations. My parents left the ranch in 1950 to come back to Pennsylvania. As we followed it in the years from then to possibly to 1970's the ranch or parts of it were burned by extensive brush fires. Westerns of course were made on the ranch and Mom and Dad always spoke of the ranch and Mr. Brandeis with high regard.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04756874336225405513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1886324481502750929.post-16395389376994148712018-05-12T12:18:16.274-07:002018-05-12T12:18:16.274-07:00I suspect there was a caretaker in the 1930s and 1...I suspect there was a caretaker in the 1930s and 1940s, but I don't have any information about him or her.Drifting Cowboyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07843139206014640732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1886324481502750929.post-18674544965725257652018-05-12T12:13:22.217-07:002018-05-12T12:13:22.217-07:00That's very interesting.
