MOLESWORTH INSPIRED FURNITURE by Jerry England (1989-2002)

 

Howdy! My name is Jerry England, in 1989 I saw a display of Thomas Molesworth's Cowboy High Style Furniture at the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody Wyoming. I fell in love with it, and when I got home I started crafting my own pieces.

Between 1989 and 2002, I sold hundreds of pieces marketed under the name of 'Lure of the Dim Trails.'

It's been 20 years since I crafted the last piece of my  'MOLESWORTH INSPIRED FURNITURE,' but I still hear from old friends and customers from time to time, so I thought I’d give everyone one last look at my cowboy folk-art furniture…

UPDATE 2022

It recently occurred to me that credit for my desire to create goes to my ancestors...

The beautiful Pinwheel Quilt in the photo above was made by my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother in Creston, Montana circa 1930. Grandma's art won her a 1st Place Ribbon at the Los Angeles County Fair in the mid 1960s.

The leaded glass "Cactus" lamp above was created by my Dad in the 1980s. He was a 3rd generation woodworker who taught me many of my woodworking skills.
