Many thanks for remembering Mr. Williams.
ReplyDeleteAs an "N.Y.C." kid I attended many a rodeo at Madison Square Garden with Roy Rogers as the host.
We lived on Staten Island, which was lightly populated and so had plenty of woods to be Roy or" Hoppy" or The Lone Ranger in with our deadly cap pistols.
I fully believe my Father's generation, "Hoot" Gibson, William Boyd, and mine grew up with a social conscience and a sense of fair play and an aversion to bullying because of the standards instilled in us with those Westerns.
Thanks again and best to your Grandchildren.
