Anne Couvent (Voyageur Mother) to Louis VIII, King of France

Louis VIII (1187-1226), the Lion, King of France in 1223

THE LONGUEVAL RESEARCH PROJECT (2007), from the Mémoires de la Société généalogique canadienne française (Memoirs of the French-Canadian Genealogical Society) published an article titled "Les origins de Philippe Amiot (Hameau), de son éspouse Anne Couvent et de leur neveu Toussaint Ledran." (“The origins of Philippe Amiot (Hameau), his wife Anne Couvent and their nephew Toussaint Ledran.”).

In the article the research team of the Longueval Project established the ancestry through Anne Couvent, and her mother Antointette Longueval back to King Louis VIII of France. The project also claims to trace Anne's ancestry back to King Henry III of England, but I have not been able to find those connections.

Some of my distant cousins should be able to make a connect through one of my ancestors listed below.

  1. I am an Anne Couvent descendant as well. It's true. She is a direct descendant of Henry III of England. Here's the chart. http://habitant.org/couvent/Couvent_Henry_III.pdf

    1. Oh! A few more things...Anne Couvent is a direct descendant of Charlemagne and William the Conqueror too.

  2. Also, continuing on the British Isles, she's a direct descendant of Alfred the Great via his daughter, Ælfthryth of Wessex (aka Elfridam, Elfrida, Elftrude, Elftrudis). Ælfthryth married Baldwin II, Count of Flanders. Additionally, she is a direct descendant of Duncan I of Scotland (king from "Macbeth"). I found that link thru Michael Marcotte's website. Here's the link http://michaelmarcotte.com/scottish.htm

    1. The record I have suggests Marguerite de Barbançon, dame of Montgobert, and Robert de Joyeuse, count of Grandpré, married 15 July 1519, is the daughter of: VII François de Barbançon, seigneur of La Ferté.

  4. I'm proud to be a descendant from Philippe Amyot and Anne Couvent. Both side have an interesting side. My 10th great grandfather was and is still a mystery. His life, death, parents... I'm looking for more on Philippe Amyot

    1. Was this Nicolas? If so he would not be Amiot.

    2. Her 2nd marriage was to Jacques Maheu, and they did have a son named Nicolas. Anne had three sons with Philippe Amiot (Amyot) dit Villeneuve. They were Mathieu Amiot (Amyot) Sieur de Villeneuve, my ancestor, Jean Amiot (Amyot), and Charles Amiot (Amyot).
