George O'Brien (1899-1985) was an American actor, who was popular from the silent film era well into the talkie era of the 1940s.

John Ford chose him to star in The Iron Horse opposite actress Madge Bellamy in 1924, from then on he became a successful B-Western cowboy star, and was consistently a top box-office draw appearing in dozens of Westerns over the next two decades.  His favorite (and most often used) movie horse was named Mike.
