Monte Hale (1919-2009) was a singing cowboy and B-Western film actor.
He learned to sing and play the guitar at an early age, and was soon playing in Vaudeville and local rodeos throughout Texas. During World War II he got a job as a replacement guitarist with the Stars Over Texas Bond Drive. He worked with several Republic Pictures celebrities and staff during the bond drive, and Republic soon signed him to a contract.
His first starring role came in 1946 in Home on the Range (1946). His film career began to fade in the 1950s, so he retired from movies and started performing at rodeos and circuses.
